Rizal RogArt

This week’s ArtDrop is made by Rizal, a talented artist from Malaysia who makes incredibly detailed pieces, often with only 1 or 2 colors besides black and white. We promise his work will instantly catch your eye when you scroll through your feed.

We asked Rizal to introduce himself so we could get to know him better.

“I started drawing at a young age, but only got serious about creating art in 2015. Before that, I only did it as a hobby because I had a full-time job.

It took me a while to get to where I am now though. At some point in my career, I started to meet more artists and joined some art events. It was then that I found Kerby Rosanes's art on Instagram. I fell in love with it, so I started to copy his style a bit. From there, I then slowly developed my own style. That’s an ongoing process, and I still work on it every day.

My friend @OHNAPIE introduced me and other friends to NFTs in July 2021. I found it interesting but I couldn’t jump in straight away because I’m a slow learner. So I watched a lot of videos. I officially listed my first NFT in August 2021, but it was an impulsive move. I felt kind of lost and didn’t even know what I wanted to create. Thankfully, I now do, and the things I’m creating are the things I really love.

The best thing about NFTs is the community. I only became active on Twitter once I started making NFTs. I feel blessed to have met many talented people and to be surrounded by so much amazing art. And, above all, that my own work is now seen by folks across the globe.

NFTs have taught me a lot. If you’re an artist reading this and you are interested in joining our community, then I’d say, go for it. Believe in yourself, do what you like to do, and learn. You’ll evolve a lot throughout the journey.
