Agni Max is a landscape and travel photographer from India. He takes the kind of photos that capture the twinkle of emotion in the subject’s eye, the iridescence of a sunrise and do justice to even the most colourful of cultures. It comes to no surprise that his works have been featured in both national and international media, having received multiple awards.
‘Perplexed Mind’ is one of those pictures – it is an intimate portrait of Roudra Bheema, a close-up that reveals a facial expression ridden with both malice and a knowing that the worst is coming. This is the moment before he murders his own blood, his brother Duryodhana, frozen in time. Indeed, the most perplexing instance occurs when we try to rationalise something that both our heart and intuition know is wrong.
